1996 DIRTY DOZEN RESULTS The 14th Annual Dirty Dozen was held on Saturday, November 30th. A record 22 riders [including 12 rookies] rode on a cool [high Temp. of 44 degrees F] CLOUDY day with steady, light rain and fog. Impressive rookie Johnny Knotts led the entire way through. Weighing 207 pounds, Ron Lutz showed up after hill #3. 205 pound Jim Weaver never made it up hill #5 on his mountain bike, and dropped out. At least 6 riders failed to ride all the way up Canton Ave. 54 year old Oscar Swan became the new oldest finisher. Only 11 people scored points. Thanks to Mark Powder for officiating in Russ Clock's (also present) vehicle. After helping me win my first RAAM in the summer, Tom Holland (on my Chew Crew) rode strongly on his DD debut. His brother Dan (a runner) drove along the route and took photos. Dan & Russ got us two pizzas at the top of Boustead St. in Beechview. . . Hill #  .
