1999 SOLO RAAM TIME STATION WINNERS
If RAAM were run like the Tour de France, there would be stage winners every day in addition to the overall winner. Since there are time stations in RAAM, I have determined the fastest rider between every time station with their average speed. If there was a tie, both riders are listed. Under the Race Leader heading, the following name abreviations are used: Andreas[A], Chew[C], Tatrai[T], Fasching[F], and Sakurai[S].

Only 4 of the 17 finishers failed to win a stage: Lansdell - 12th place Gersbeck - 13th place Schmidt - 14th place Bickenbach - 16th place The following is a ranking of who had the most race leads (yellow jersey) through the 63 time stations:
RANK NAME OF RIDER # OF RACE LEADS _____________________________________________ 1 Andreas[A] 25 2 Chew[C] 16 3 Tatrai[T] 12 4 Fasching[F] 9 5 Sakurai[S] 1 Another interesting thing to note was that the lead changed 16 times based solely upon time station data. The lead actually changed many more times than this since many changes take place between time stations which never show up on the official TS statistics. Danny Chew went from being his farthest behind in the whole race [7 hours down on race leader Andreas] in Western Oklahoma to taking the lead in Kingfisher, OK just 15 hours later - all in the same day. While Danny was riding that day, Andreas stopped for two [3 & 2 hour] sleep breaks. Also while Danny was having a great day, Tatrai was having an even better day. He took over an hour out of Chew on his remarkable comeback from being over 11 hours behind the race leader in Colorado to taking the race lead in central Arkansas when Danny went down for an early sleep break.
